It’s not hard to tell that Brooklyn-raised rap renegade Lowkey Kishaka is faithfully holding down the streets of the Big Apple with block burning music production for years. Known for his infectious, electrifying and catchy delivery, Lowkey has got to be one of the brightest new stars from the East Coast in urban music. When listening to the rap stunner’s witty wordplay combined with his banging beats, it’s easy to see that Kishaka found the formula for success. His newly created musical genre is called “Afri-Club-Bean” which combines the best of three worlds: African, Club and Caribbean sounds. This new genre is featured in two singles “Feels Like Africa” and “Tear This Club Up”.

“My music is special and brings you something new, something you haven’t heard before. It’s simply outside the box! My goal is to enlighten and entertain my audience while conveying realistic images of life,” explained Lowkey Kishaka. Being the flagship artist under his own independent record label, MYFAM Productions, the Brooklyn rapper already has notable hit singles under his belt with the audacious masterpieces “Feels Like Africa”, “Who da Fuka U (Remix)”, “Tear This Club Up”, “Grind Stack”, and”Blow Your Mind” (teamed up with R&B Superstar Logan) that are blasting through radio stations from coast to coast. Lowkey collaborated with popular actor/comedian Michael Blackson (“Next Friday” w/ Ice Cube) in his music video for “Feels Like Africa” and Afrika Bambaataa’s Zulu Nation clique in the visual for “Who da Fuka U (Remix)”. Songs from Lowkey’s “Generals on the Mic” album are currently getting spins on Pandora. The latest album, The Family Business, catapulted Follow Me tosuccess and the most recent single, Impatiently Waiting, is getting spins on NYC radio on WBLS 107.5.

His breakout single, “Feels Like Africa”, truly shows Lowkey’s strong African roots as his family can be traced back to the Congo region of Africa. A trip to South Africa coincided with his creation of his “Afri-Club-Bean” sound. The music video was filmed in several parts, including footage shot in KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, which made Lowkey realize he was on the right track to release “Feels Like Africa” as his debut single. Dedicated, motivated, and energetic are the three words that best describe Lowkey Kishaka who literally has music in his veins. Lowkey is bending ears and bleeding the music critic’s pen to praise and high regard. His music incorporates an element of realism and rawness that is authentic and seldom seen on today’s musical landscape.

“I’ve been writing and producing forever! My music offers something for everyone, it’s universal,” says Lowkey Kishaka who is also a much sought after hitmaker besides being a versatile and talented artist. The buzz is growing, the anticipation is thrilling and the momentum is rising. Don’t make the mistake of missing out on Lowkey’s rise to stardom. Respect the grind and join the MYFAM movement!
